Market Indexes Explained on Red Hill Capital Blog

As many people look at art as investment, they should know more about investment topics.  Art market indexes have become popular, as a result of the emphasis, in the press, on the investment aspects of art.  In fact, when we recently inquired about the construction of the art market indexes that China's Artron has made, no one was able to tell us.  When we mentioned that to some Artron people who visited our gallery, they said that only someone like me would ask.  Please click on the link to read about market indexes on Red Hill Capital Blog .

Although you can use methods of investment analysis to analyze art, never use investment analysis, in an oversimplified manner.  For example, a starting point for analyzing art might be in cost/sale per square inch or centimeter, but to assume, thereafter, that every piece of artist's work should be exactly at that average is a real oversimplification: some will be valued higher; some, lower.

Be smart about your investments.
