Li Jin Ming's Paintings Chosen for China Stamps to Commemorate the 2010 Guangzhou Asia Games
Oil Paintings by Li Jin Ming (Jin Ming Li; Jin Ming Lee), for whom we are currently holding an exhibition , in our gallery (L. C. Yilang), titled, Small Paintings; Big World- Fifty Years of Art by Li Jin Ming, have been selected for a commemorative stamp gift set for the 2010 Guangzhou Asia Games. We are very pleased that he has been chosen from among all of the fine contemporary oil painters who hail from Guangdong Province (Canton).
Notable, also, is that one of his larger paintings of a Miao minority girl, which is included in our exhibition and is shown, below, has been selected for the cover of the stamp set.
A mockup of the stamp set package is show, below.

They are even giving us a plug in all of the collections, including one for Xu Hoing Fei, the well-known Guangdong sculptor, for correcting the English translations.
Li is a true artist who understands color and the nature of art: to chronicle life, to convey emotion, and to share beauty and ones experiences with others. We chose Li's art for our first exhibition at L.C. Gallery, in Guangzhou, to show the many small paintings that he has created and kept for himself, until now, throughout his long life and to show the breadth and development of his style over his career as an artist. We also believe that his work is undervalued, in the market, mainly due to desperation sales at auction, over the last several years, by dealers who were in desperate need of cash.
Trained by Xu Jian Bai, who was a student of Lin Feng Mian, one of the fathers of contemporary Chinese oil painting, Li has brilliant technique, and his styles range from realism to social realism to impressionism to expressionism to traditional Chinese painting. His current style, in his words, is a combination of impressionism, expressionism, Chinese traditional painting techniques.
The exhibit is on until November 19th and may be extended due to it popularity and to continue during the Asia Games. You can read more about the exhibition in the following newspapers (in Chinese): Nan Fang Daily, China Fine Art News, Guangzhou Daily , and Yangcheng Nightly Newspaper . Some film from the exhibition is also scheduled to appear on several TV stations, one syndicated in Southeast Asia.
