Li Jin Ming Exhibition at Leona Craig, Now On-Line

We opened our exhibition, Small Paintings; Big World: 50 Years of Art by Li Jin Ming, on October 23, 2010 at our L.C. Yilang (art gallery), in Guangzhou. It will run, in the Gallery, until November 19th. We have also put all of the paintings, some 90, all told, on special pages of our website at Li Jin Ming Exhibition. We will also retain the exclusive right to sell any of the paintings that remain after the physcial exhibition closes.
The opening was a wild day with a line of people stretched down the block, so, if you were not able to get in, you can still come around or you can catch it on line. You can also read about it in several news papers, including Nanfang Daily (in Chinese) and China Fine Art Newspaper (in Chinese).
It is a wonderful exhibition of paintings that the artist has kept for himself, over the years, so, they are all quite special. Moreover, as it covers fifty years of Li's art, it also shows how he has developed over his entire career as an artist. Styles include realism, socialist realism, impressionism, abstract impressionism, expressionism, and abstract expressionism. The icing on the cake is that it also gives a glimpse inside China during a period when it was closed to the res of the world.
Li Jin Ming was a student of Xu Jian Bai, who was a student of Lin Feng Mian, one of the fathers of Chinese contemporary oil painting, so, he has a fine background, and, while his art is always good, these paintings are the cream of the crop.
