Antique Yixing Teapots

We rarely get involved in the antique teapot market because it is so treacherous.  There are many copies that have been made since the 1980's, and sometimes, we actually like the copies better.  After all, art, its equipment, methods, and materials are constantly improving.  On the other hand, there is even zisha clay, around, from times past, as it is passed down through the generations of teapot artist families.

We see a lot of old teapots, in our travels through the thousands of shops and dealers that we visit, and we buy a lot of books with picture.  We recently found a link to one of the collection rooms of the Chinese Tea Culture museum that we would like to share with you, so that, you, too, can see some Yixing zisha teapots from past eras  http://tiny.cc/1AMsS .  We hope that you enjoy your e-visit to the museum, and while you are there, look at all the other things they have to offer.
