Bierstadt in China?

Albert Bierstadt, if you do not already know, was a 19th century American artist from the Hudson River School.  He was famous for painting large sweeping outdoor scenes from the Wild West.  When I first saw this painting of wild horses by Mu Yang Shen, my first though was of Bierstadt.  The scene shows a herd of about 50 wild horses stampeding out of the canvas.  The dust that they have kicked up can be seen to literally leave some of them in the dust as the gallop on the sweeping plain that ends with some buildings in the background and snow-capped mountains beyond.  Moreover, the painting measures approximately 5 feet by 5 feet, so it is grand in every respect.
Shen is famous for his landscape and horse paintings, and we love this one.  To see more paintings by Mu Yang Shen, go to the Mu Yang Shen Page of the Leona Craig Art Gallery on-line: https://www.redhill-china.com/catalogue_art_gallery/wall_art/mu_yang_shen_page.htm
