Chinese Hand-Embroidered Scenes: an Amazing Art

An amazing art form that we have discovered, in China, is hand-embroidered scenes that are suitable for framing, like paintings.  In this example scene: "Steppingstones", which we feature, in the Leona Craig Gallery, water, stone paths, trees. fields, and even a mother carrying her baby, papoose-style, are, beautifully and with great detail, rendered with hand embroidery.

Moreover, it is a dying art, as cheap machine-embroidery versions displace the real art.  You can see more Chinese hand-embroidered scenes and portraits on the Leona Craig portion of our website.
